Summary of activities

Relationships Australia Qld (RAQ) provides services for Queenslanders and Australians, including the provision of relationship and community capacity building services with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, older Australians, culturally and linguistically diverse people, and LGBTIQ individuals, that build stronger relationships and promote relationships that are respectful, fair and safe, particularly where people and communities are at risk or vulnerable. RAQ supported over 131,536 Australians in 2019/20 including: - assistance to people experiencing personal and family distress, suffering and hardship as a result of relationship conflict and breakdown; - support to vulnerable people who are victims of crime, abuse or trauma, domestic and family violence, experiencing significant life events, individuals and families affected by addiction, rural and remote isolation or significant economic hardship; - professional services for individuals, couples and families including education, mediation and counselling; and - training, collaboration, support and participation in research, and advocacy in matters of social and family policy relevant to RAQ’s work.
