Summary of activities

The objects of the organisation is to provide education and care to families and children who are disadvantaged and at risk. We provide emergency child care and relief for children under at risk circumstances such as under child protection orders, domestic violence, drug and alcohol situations, from financially vulnerable families. Our RTO offers Certificate II in Community Services training free of charge to those on social benefits struggling to obtain employment. We also assist with immigrant families from war torn countries starting afresh in our community by assisting their children to transition into school providing safe secure play groups where parents learn English and the children are engaged in play based learning activities. We have invested all surplus funds this past financial year to implement our Indigenous Initiative where through elders women's groups, Indigenous play groups, yarning circles, cross cultural workshops, and transport. The collaborative relationships with other Indigenous community groups and engagement has supported trusting family relationships with the objective of encouraging more Indigenous children to engage in early years learning thereby closing the gap in education.
