It is important to note that the Northern Territory does not have legislation that governs fundraising. However, the Department of Attorney-General and Justice is responsible for regulating any raffles or gaming activities in the NT.
Raffle and gaming activities are administered under the Gaming Control Act 1993 (NT) and the Community Gaming Regulations. Rules and guidelines also apply under the NT Code of Practice for Responsible Gambling.
To conduct lotteries and gaming activities as fundraising activities, you must register as an approved association.
