In May 2017, the ACNC registered 275 new charities that will provide a range of services to the community.
The majority of the new registered charities are based in Victoria (90), New South Wales (82) and Queensland (50).
The ACNC has registered over 11,500 new charities since we were established in December 2012. During the same time period, we have revoked or removed 19,000 charities from the Charity Register.
Members of the public can search the Charity Register to see if a charity is registered, and find out what it does, where it operates, the people who run it, the rules it needs to follow, as well as their annual and financial reports.
To find more information about these newly registered charities, and Australia’s 54,000 other registered charities, search the Charity Register at acnc.gov.au/findacharity.
