In January 2018, the ACNC registered 177 new charities, with the majority based in New South Wales (32%) Victoria (23%), and Queensland (18%).

The charities will provide a range of invaluable services to the community including animal rescue, mental health care, assistance for refugees and education facilities.

The ACNC has registered almost 1,500 charities since the start of the financial year. Members of the public can search the Charity Register to see if a charity is registered, and find out what it does, where it operates, the people who run it, the rules it needs to follow, as well as their annual and financial reports.

To find more information about these newly registered charities, and Australia’s 55,000 other registered charities, search the Charity Register at acnc.gov.au/findacharity.
