The ACNC has published two new registration decision summaries that show how charity registration decisions are made.
Decision summaries are drawn from a real charity registration application previously assessed by the ACNC. All examples have been de-identified to protect applicant privacy.
They aim to provide insights into the processes that accompany charity registration, as well as the information the ACNC asks for and the ways we work with applicants.
The two newest summaries focus on:
- ACNC Governance Standards and External Conduct Standards, and how they relate to the responsibilities charities have to address conflicts of interest
- the link between registration with the subtype ‘Health Promotion Charity’ and the need for an organisation to demonstrate that its principal activity furthers that subtype.
Other summaries in our growing library cover a variety of registration-related issues and considerations.
Further summaries will continue to be published on the ACNC website as part of this work.
