The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission 2023–2024 annual report has been tabled in Parliament, detailing significant achievements.

The ACNC has updated guidance on managing people’s information and data, helping charities better understand their obligations under privacy law. 

Over 60 charities that failed to submit two or more Annual Information Statements have lost their registration, following a public notice issued on 9 September.

As the deadline for submitting the Annual Information Statement approaches on 31 January 2025, make sure you can log in to the Charity Portal and see your charity listed.

The ACNC offers free, online short courses to support leadership and accountability in the charity sector. If you are on the board or committee of a charity, or in another leadership role, our online learning will boost your skills and expertise.

The 2024 Annual Information Statement (AIS) is now available. All charities registered with the ACNC must submit an AIS, and the dedicated 2024 AIS Hub will assist your charity to complete it.

The Commission has today issued a public notice advising charities they have until 7 October 2024 to submit overdue Annual Information Statements, or their registration may be revoked.

The Full Court of the Federal Court handed down its judgment today on Equality Australia Ltd’s eligibility to be registered as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI). The Court dismissed Equality Australia’s appeal regarding registration as a PBI.
