Under certain circumstances, the ACNC can disclose information about charity investigations. This may include:

  • the fact that the ACNC is carrying out an investigation, and
  • information relating to an investigation.

These powers only apply to new or ongoing investigations relating to a charity’s compliance with the ACNC Act, Governance Standards or External Conduct Standards.

On 4 February 2026, the ACNC Commissioner has authorised the disclosure of the fact that the Commissioner is undertaking a recognised assessment activity in relation to the Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, Peter Tribe, Australia Melbourne Church (Melbourne Zion Church) Incorporated (ABN 58378148030), noting published reporting regarding the organisation’s alleged activities.
