Submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters
In December 2017, the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters announced that it would conduct a review of political donations as part of its broader inquiry into the 2016 election. The Committee will also examine the Electoral Legislation Amendment (Electoral Funding and Disclosure Reform) Bill 2017.
On 25 January 2018, the ACNC made a submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters, in relation to the proposed Bill, commonly referred to in the media as the Foreign Donations Bill.
Submission to the review of Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission legislation
In December 2017, the Government announced the terms of reference for the legislated five-year review of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (Consequential and Transitional) Act 2012 (Cth), both of which commenced operation in December 2012.
